  • MQTT protocol added to App Store Connect.

    MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) is an ISO standard (ISO/IEC PRF 20922)[2] publish-subscribe-based "lightweight" messaging protocol for use on top of the TCP/IP protocol. It is designed for connections with remote locations where a "small code footprint" is required or the network bandwidth is limited. This is an important component of the IoT and will allow Civic Apps to use the Industrial App Store.

    Maintaining optimal PID control is the bedrock of an efficient, safe and profitable industrial process. The historian database is scanned and controllers are automatically found and configured, minimising initial effort in setting the system up. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are then created allowing performance to be analysed, ranked, and monitored over time.

    Tag intelligence knows what tags look like and what they mean. It is able to recognise tags in the middle of documents, and link all the different systems that refer to tags together automatically. It gleans the meaning from the tag, and can be used to build an automatic plant model in any system (PI-AF, OPC UA, etc.).

    Intelligent Plant – an Industry leading provider of real time and historical process data analysis software, Have announced a partnership with Aberdeen University Computing Science Department –a thriving centre of teaching and research, particularly in areas related to Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge-Based Information Management.

    Under the partnership – Intelligent Plant is offering An ‘Inform prize’ for the best project, Placements for stand-out students Materials and resources to contribute to the new MSc in Oil & Gas computing which is a new course offered by Aberdeen University targeted at preparing their students for the world of work in Oil and Gas, and providing specific knowledge that can be used in the Student’s careers. The materials and resources will give students specific knowledge of real-time and historical process data analysis.

    This will help the university to provide truly unique graduates to the industry and help Intelligent Plant to keep growing at the current rate whilst embedding knowledge in graduates before they are employed.

  • Partnership with MAC Solutions

    MAC Solutions, developer of the ProcessVue suite of alarm management software, has announced a cross-sourcing partnership agreement with Intelligent Plant, a provider of enterprise visualisation and business intelligence solutions for the oil & gas sector.

    Both considered market leaders, the agreement will enable the companies to draw on each others’ strengths and to offer integrated, enterprise-wide solutions to oil and gas customers that cover all of their products and services.
